are the steps?
A person can become a citizen through naturalization by
following these steps: enter the US legally, have good moral character, show
their support of the American government, you must prove you can read, write,
and speak English, and you must show some basic knowledge of US history and
government. People must submit an application, have a hearing to test an
application where they are asked questions, two people must testify about the
persons integrity, they will be questioned about American government and
history, if a person makes it through these steps they will then have a final
hearing where they pledge their oath of allegiance to America.

How can a person lose citizenship?
A person can lose citizenship by expatriation, giving up
ones citizenship to take another countries citizenship, committing a crime,
such as terrorism, or denaturalization, where you lose citizenship due to fraud
or deception during your naturalization process.
